Tide Planning Tool

Description:

Low tides offer unique recreation opportunities. Secret beaches, fishing spots, clambeds, tidepools, and many more places typically blocked by surf become accessible. Additionally, more exposed hard and wet sand makes it easier to hike, bike, and drive on the beach. While low tides generally occur twice per day, they are not always low enough or at the right time for recreation.

The Tide Planning Tool is a web application that identifies tides that fit the requirements of your coastal adventure. Enter your desired location, tide threshold, and time requirements, and compatible tides will be returned. This application is particularly useful because it allows you to find tides based on the day of the week and time of day. Most people prefer tides below 0ft that occur on weekends within daylight hours. The application can also be used to find high tides. All tide data is sourced from the National Weather Service API.
